UW/R. DVLA regional Director Pays Courtesy Call on Wa Mayor, Outlines Plans for 24-Hour Service
The newly appointed Upper West Regional Director of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Clive Akapale Ayenga, has begun engaging stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery in the region.
Mr. Ayenga and his team paid a courtesy call on the Wa Municipal Chief Executive Officer Hon. Alhaji Nura Issah Danwana on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The visit was to introduce the new regional director following his recent appointment formally. The regional accountant and other DVLA officials accompanied him.
Hon. Danwana congratulated Mr. Ayenga on his promotion, describing it as well-deserved after more than a decade of dedicated service to the region. He urged the director to stay disciplined, humble, and committed in his new role.
In response, Mr. Ayenga thanked the mayor for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to serve the region professionally. “This is my region as a northerner, and I am ready to do even more to improve DVLA operations for the people,” he said.
Mr. Ayenga announced that the Upper West regional office is preparing to implement 24-hour service in line with the government’s 24-hour economy policy. He explained that vehicle and motorbike registrations could be completed within 24 hours if applicants present all required documents, as part of efforts to reduce delays and improve efficiency.
To support night operations, he requested assistance with better lighting and security infrastructure around the DVLA office. Hon. Danwana pledged the Assembly’s support, assuring management that steps would be taken to provide security lighting and improve safety for 24/7 operations.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to stronger collaboration to enhance public service delivery in Wa.
