In a heated clash unfolding on social media during the holy month of Ramadan, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim has vehemently denied explosive claims that she’s plotting to challenge Wa Central MP Dr. Rashid Pelpuo in the upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries.

The controversy erupted when Abdul-Majeed Suglo, a prominent NPP social media activist and administrator for the party’s Upper West regional youth wing, alleged on his Meta page that Shamima Muslim was gearing up for a parliamentary primary showdown.

Suglo’s post quickly drew fire, prompting him to delete it—only to repost, claiming it was at Muslim’s personal request.

Muslim fired back swiftly and sharply: “Abdul, I have not appealed to you. I have asked you in the month of Ramadan to stop spreading falsehood,” she wrote, urging restraint during the sacred fasting period.

Suglo conceded, responding: “Shamima Muslim, it is the month of Ramadan so I’ve taken down the post.” The exchange has ignited accusations of political sabotage, with NDC loyalists decrying it as desperate electioneering tactics.
